Job Description
The McDowell is seeking an individual who is passionate about solving problems and improving the health and well-being of Alaskans. Our work requires objectivity, curiosity, flexibility, and tenacity. Examples of our projects include community health needs assessments, health care program evaluations, economic and socioeconomic impact analyses, and contributions to health policy and planning. Our clients include communities, non-profit organizations, government agencies, public and private health care providers, and others concerned with the health of Alaskans. Frequent client and industry contact is anticipated through projects and industry outreach.

Desired Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Expertise in one or more facets of Alaska’s health care and social service systems.
  • A high degree of self-discipline, motivation, and personal responsibility.
  • Ability to work in small groups as a contributor and as a team leader.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Experience managing projects to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Professional experience that contributes to McDowell Group’s work and mission.
  • Master’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is contingent on professional experience and skills. Full-time employees are eligible for McDowell Group benefits including:
  • Four weeks of personal leave, graduating to 6 weeks with increased years of service.
  • Group Health Plan, with McDowell Group contributing 75 percent of plan cost for employees, spouse, and dependents.
