Alaska Chamber hires Kati Capozzi as new president and CEO

Anchorage, Alaska — The Alaska Chamber today announced that its executive committee has hired Kati Capozzi as president and chief executive officer.

Ms. Capozzi most recently worked as the campaign manager for Stand for Alaska Vote No on 1, the group that worked to defeat Ballot Measure 1 in November 2018. The Vote No campaign was successful in soundly defeating the ballot measure, winning 62 percent of the statewide vote.

Prior to leading Stand for Alaska, Capozzi worked for five years as a communications and project manager for the Resource Development Council for Alaska (RDC). In that role, Capozzi monitored relevant legislation, managed large-scale events, and developed and managed RDC’s communications plan.

“Kati Capozzi is a perfect match for this demanding role,” said Cory Baggen, Chamber Chairman. “Her expertise in engaging Alaskans on the importance of a stable and competitive economic environment will serve the Chamber membership well.”

Having worked for the Alaska Oil and Gas Association and the Chamber in previous capacities, Capozzi takes the helm with years of experience.

In her new role with the Chamber, Capozzi will develop and implement plans to accomplish the priorities of the Chamber as defined by the Board of Directors and Chamber members. Capozzi will also lead advocacy efforts to ensure that priorities of Alaska’s businesses are known and properly considered in creation of policy and regulations, and act as the organization’s primary spokesperson.
