About Us
ASNA is an Alaska Native-owned, non-profit tribal health care organization serving over 10,000 people living in the northern region of Alaska, including the villages of Anaktuvuk Pass, Atqasuk, Barrow, Kaktovik, Nuiqsut, Point Hope, Point Lay and Wainwright. Formed in 1964, by original founders Samuel Simmonds, Guy Okakok and Charles ‘Etok’ Edwardsen Jr., ASNA was originally created to help protect the lands of the Arctic Slope region, beginning the process that led to the Alaska Native Land Claims Settlement Act.
